On the occasion of World Water Day - March 22, the Central Balkan National Park Directorate together with the Natural History Museum - Cherni Osam village are organizing a celebration for young and old. Through games and tasks, everyone will learn more about water, its related species and how to protect it. The event will be held in the courtyard of the museum on March 22 (Wednesday) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Hut Kozya Stena

Kozya Stena hut is located some fifty meters lower and South of the main crest, in the beginning of the Dalgia Nos (Uzunborun in Turkish) watershed ridge, at an elevation of 1560 m. It was built by the Pleven tourists in 1940 and completely refurbished in the ‘eighties. At present it has 105 beds. The hut is supplied with water and electricity. The hut offers gorgeous vista to the Dalgia Nos ridge and the peak of Kavladan, to the West are the magnificent slopes of the peak of Yumruka, while to the East are the peaks of Kozyata Stena, Kolikon and Kucheto. Kozya Stena hut is an important main crest hut.
Access points to the hut being:

  • Hristo Danovo village via Damladere and the Dalgia Nos (Uzunborun) watershed ridge
  • Chiflik village via Tumin Dyal and the peak of Kucheto. Section of the trail falls within a reserve. The hiking here should be limited to the marked trail. The collection of mushrooms, forest fruits, herbs, the picking up of flowers and the bothering of wild animals is not allowed.

Kozya Stena hut is an access point to Eho hut (via Zhelezni Vrata and Karchov Preslap), to Haidushka Pesen hut (via the peak of Kucheto) and to Dermenkaya hut (crossing the Beklemeto Pass)
