"TSARICHINA" - a reserve in the "Central Balkan" national park, Sredna Stara planina. Announced in 1949 on an area of 10 ha, repeatedly expanded; area 3418.7 ha. Avalanche chutes on the northern slopes of Mount Vezhen. Rock massif. Forests of beech, fir, spruce and white mulberry (its northernmost location). Subalpine thickets of Siberian juniper, alpine meadows. Rich flora - over 600 species of plants, endemic and relict plants and animals. Narcissus, yellow and spotted gentian, mountain pansy, Panchichi's sedge, Kerner's cornflower, Rhynchocoris. Balkan trout, smoke mouse, viper, viviparous lizard. About 80 species of nesting birds: osprey, mountain woodpecker, woodpecker, owl, Ural owl, pin-tailed and sparrow cuckoo, black and white-backed woodpecker. Over 30 species of mammals - bear, wolf, goldfinch, wild cat, otter, red deer, bats, snowy owl. Biosphere reserve.
During their journey, tourists can see beautiful and valuable woody and herbaceous plants - beech, hornbeam, aspen, fir, dogwood, mullein, thyme, stelika, eagle fern, the local endemic Trojan bell, sedum, crocus, pigeon's eyes, medicinal honeydew, thick-breasted fox, silkworm, many edible mushrooms - boletus, duck's foot, roe deer, mushroom, trout, boletus, to find traces of the presence of bear, wolf, wild boar, red deer, roe deer, fox, badger, squirrel, wild cat, to hear the drumming of the black woodpecker, the green woodpecker, and the great spotted woodpecker, the songs of the common finch, the tawny tit, the grebe, the cuckoo, the song thrush, the cry of the raven and the jay, the screech of the buzzard, the mating call of the owls.
