14 April 2025
In connection with the Forest Week, the children from the preschool group of the St. Cyril and Methodius Primary School had the opportunity to learn more about the forest, its inhabitants and how we can protect them.

On April 11, the Park Directorate's forest expert told them more about deciduous and coniferous trees. The topic of wild animals in the forest was also touched upon, as well as which of them prefer deciduous and which coniferous forests as their homes. Why it is necessary for some plants and animals to be protected and what is the role of protected areas in nature conservation. The children learned how to recognize the footsteps of a bear, wolf, deer, wild cat and partridge, as well as other interesting facts about the Balkans.

Another interesting topic was also highlighted - what happens to sparrows and how they can join the "We Count the Sparrows" campaign on 03.05.2025. Each child received a sparrow mask to color, as well as stickers of plants and animals from the Central Balkan National Park.
