CBNPD participates in a workshop on biosphere reserves

A workshop on "Cooperation within the framework of UNESCO's European Biosphere Reserves" was held in Eberswalde, Germany, between November 4 and 7.
The meeting was attended by experts and specialists with extensive experience in the management, development and implementation of projects in biosphere reserves from all over Europe - Germany, Austria, France, Hungary, Portugal, Sweden, Finland and others. The Directorate of the Central Balkan National Park participated in the event, as an expert from the Directorate presented to the participants the history, activities and current challenges facing the Central Balkan Biosphere Park.
The workshop provided an opportunity to exchange experience and learn about the good practices of other biosphere reserves - their methods for establishing and maintaining lasting relations with the public, local producers and artists, with whom fruitful cooperation is being carried out. Ideas were presented to promote the theme of harmony between man and the biosphere, as well as the opportunities and benefits of the existence of biosphere reserves as a model for sustainable development.
The on-site visit to the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve illustrated how the partnership between local producers and the Biosphere Reserve institution, which works both to preserve the natural qualities of the environment and for the benefit of society, is implemented in practice.
