Children and the "Park as a Classroom"

This week, as part of the Central Balkan National Park Directorate’s educational program, “The Park as a Classroom,” two groups of children visited us and gained new and interesting knowledge.
On June 10, 42 students from the Veliko Tarnovo Bacho Kiro Elementary School visited the Park. The children walked along the Vidimsko Praskalo eco-trail together with employees from the Park Directorate, who told them about the Central Balkan National Park, its inhabitants, and the old beech forests in these places. The children left tired, but smiling and enriched by the lively contact with nature and the knowledge they had gained.
And on Wednesday, June 11, 22 children from the local Neofit Rilski Elementary School visited the Green Classroom of the Central Balkan National Park Directorate in Gabrovo. The fourth graders had the opportunity, in the form of a competitive game, to learn how they can contribute to protecting the planet and what its main pollutants are. And through the next challenge, they learned more about proper behavior in the mountains, what is permissible when visiting nature and what is not.
