Let's not disturb animals in nature!

16 May 2025
Small deer and fawns have already begun to be observed in the forest, in this regard we remind you that if you meet a small deer, a fawn in the forest, it is not abandoned or lost and you should not touch it, disturb it and even more so take it with you to rescue it.

Yes, when they are born, they seem defenseless and helpless, just like most young in this world, but their mother is nearby. During the first week or two after birth, the young hide in the grass and bushes while their mother is grazing. The female often returns to nurse it. Another case in which the mother may not be with her young is when she senses danger, she flees from the place to distract the predator and keep it away from the deer. During this time, its instinctive task is to stay still and blend in with the environment. This is helped by the protective color of its fur, reminiscent of the earth speckled with sunspots. Then the mother returns to it.

Small animals arouse tenderness in us and often out of concern or curiosity we want to get closer, touch them, "save" them. Our advice is to observe them from a distance and for a short time, so as not to disturb and worry the animals, because for them we are an unknown danger (the predator).

If in reality you notice that the young animal is injured or is in dangerous conditions (it has fallen into a ditch, a shaft), you can take action to save it, after contacting the competent authorities - the Regional Forest Directorates or the State Forest and Hunting Estates by calling 112.
