Temporary restrictions on motor vehicle access are introduced along the Troyan Pass – “Dermenka” Hut road
By Order No. RD 134 of 15 June 2026, issued by the Director of the Central Balkan National Park Directorate, temporary restrictions are introduced on the movement, stay, and parking of motor vehicles (including ATVs and UTVs of all classes) along Road No. 12 Troyan Pass – “Dermenka” Hut, listed in Annex No. 3.2.3. “Roads with free access and adjacent parking areas in Central Balkan National Park”, Management Plan of CBNP 2016–2025, as follows:

Restricted access is introduced for visitors to Central Balkan National Park using motor vehicles (including ATVs and UTVs of all classes) along Road No. 12 Troyan Pass – “Dermenka” Hut for tourism purposes. A maximum of 10 motor vehicles per day is permitted, only on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Vehicle access along this road is allowed only after prior coordination with the CBNP Directorate, in accordance with §7 of the Transitional and Final Provisions of the Protected Areas Act.

A coordination regime is introduced for the use of Road No. 12 Troyan Pass – “Dermenka” Hut by all owners of facilities and users of natural resources in the area.
The restrictions do not apply to vehicles of the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Central Balkan National Park Directorate, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defence, the Mountain Rescue Service, as well as other vehicles with special operational status when performing official duties.
Period of validity of the restrictions: 15 June 2026 – 31 December 2026.
