The city of Troyan hosted the second celebration of the Central Balkan Biosphere Reserve

On Saturday (October 7) in the space in front of the Tourist Information Center of the city of Troyan, the second festival event took place under the title "Common Future for People and Nature", organized by the Central Balkan National Park Directorate, supported by the Municipality of Troyan.

On a warm autumn day, many children went through the workshops for pottery patterning, modeling with clay, drawing folk aprons from the northern region, crocheting wool, eco-activities. Among the exhibitors were masters of Kalofer lace, wool felting, art knitting, ceramics, wood carving, honey makers, homemade syrups and pestles.

For the first time, an exhibition of 15 photographs was presented, presenting the "face" of the Biosphere Reserve - artisans, farmers, authentic architecture, folklore and traditions, preserved nature. The composition of photos will accompany the following events related to the sites awarded by UNESCO in the region, as well as visiting the partners of the biosphere and national park.

The photographs have been provided free of charge by their authors, who are Mr. Joan de la Malla - a freelance photographer of UNESCO (reflected the visit of this year's visiting expert assistance in support of the formation of administrative capacity of Biosphere reserve around the world - UNESCO Earth Network Mission 2023 .), Mr. Radoslav Parvanov, photos provided by partner sites and an archive maintained by National Park employees.

The purpose of the events is to promote the UNESCO honors in the region - the Central Balkan Biosphere Reserve and the beech forests of the National Park, included in a series of UNESCO World Heritage sites, as well as to provide a kind of continuation of the initiative "Partner of the Central Balkan Biosphere Reserve".
The holidays are organized by the Central Balkan National Park Directorate with the support of the municipalities of Troyan, Sevlievo, Pavel Banya, Karlovo and Anton within the Participation Program of UNESCO.
