Offenders with a long-barreled firearm were caught on the territory of the Central Balkan National Park

Upon a signal from the Director of the Central Balkan National Park Directorate, a search was conducted by employees of the Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Troyan, during which it was established that two persons had brought a long-barreled firearm into the territory of the Central Balkan National Park.

Today we celebrate the 45th anniversary of the declaration of the Stenetto Reserve.

In 1962 it was declared a national park, it was recategorized into a reserve in 1979. With an area of almost 3,600 hectares, the reserve is the second largest in the Central Balkan National Park after Dzhendema.

The largest National Park Central Balkan's Mountain Reserve Dzhendema turns 71 years old

Dzhendema reserve in Central Balkan National Park was declared on March 28, 1953 to protect valuable animal species - chamois, deer, roe deer, fawns. With an area of 4,220.2 ha, Dzhendema reserve is the largest Staroplanin reserve and one of the largest in Bulgaria. It is located in the Kalofers' mountain, on the southern slope of the Botev peak's massif. The undisputed wealth is the vast pastures and forests, almost untouched by human hands. Due to its unique geology and climate the area is at the heart of a modern center for the formation of new types of plant communities, rich in endemic and rare plants.

Festivals were held at Central Balkan Biosphere Reserve in the municipalities of Karlovo and Anton

The events took place on October 20 in the village of Anton and on October 21 in the town of Karlovo under the title Central Balkan Biosphere Reserve - Common future for people and nature. The places are not chosen randomly, because the two settlements are administrative centers in two of the five municipalities of the transition zone of the Biosphere Reserve.

Evergreen tree high up to 50 meters. Its crown is conical in young trees, becoming columnar in old ones, often with a flat top.

European beech or Common beech(Fagus sylvatica)

This  is the most typical forest tree in Central Balkan National Park. Broad-leaf tree with a height up to 35 meters.

Balkan maple (Heldreich`s Maple) (Acer heldreichii)

Broad-leaf tree, reaching a height of 25-30 meters. Its crown is conical. The bark is smooth and pink-gray in young trees.

European Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus)

Broad-leaf tree, high up to 30 meters. The crown is domed. The bark is gray-silvery smooth and thin.

English Yew (Taxus baccata)

Coniferous tree reaching a height of 20-27 meters with wide crown, formed by quickly growing lower branches. In Central Balkan National Park it possesses usually a shrubby growth form.

The Black pine-tree (Pinus nigra) reaches a height of 30 m and has an irregular in shape and patent crown. The bark of the tree is thick, grey in color and deeply cracked.

It is a small evergreen bush distributed in Central and Southeastern Europe. In Bulgaria it inhabits only the region of the Central Stara Planina.

This species is credited as a symbol of mountain tourism. It is  perennial grass plant, high up to 12 cm, covered thickly by whitish hairs.

This species is a small shrub, up to 2 m in height with extremely flexible branches. The flowering period is at the end of the winter and the flowers are very aromatic. The plant is poisonous and is used in the medecine.
