Balkanski rozi (Balkan roses) hut

 

The hut was built in 1933 by the Red Cross.

It is situated within the territory of “Stara reka” reserve, at 1100m above the sea level, on the path to “Hubavets” and “Vassil Levski” huts. It consists of two one-storey buildings with total capacity of 50 beds, allocated in rooms with 2,4 and more beds.

The WCs and the sinks are outside. The buildings are electrified and water supplied. Solid fuel stoves heat the hut.

“Balkanski rozi” is a starting point for the most difficulty accessible peak in Stara planina – the peak of Golyam Kupen.

From “Balkanski rozi” hut you can descend to “Vassil Levski” hut.

Starting points: the town of Karlovo – 3 h along marked path, as well as the towns Sopot, Troyan, Apriltsli, the villages: Vassil Levski, Cherni Osam, Oreshak, the huts Balkanski rozi, Hubavets, Ravnets, Dobrila, Ambaritsa, Pleven, Yavorova laka, Rai, Botev shelter and tourist dormitory Karlovo.
