Hut Sokolna


The hut is located southeast of the peak of Mazalat, on a clearing below the rock formations of Germekaya, at an elevation of 1400 m. The current hut was built in 1978 – 1982 by the tourists society of Gabarevo village, on the place of a former shelter. It has 40 beds. It is supplied with water and electricity. You would have beautiful sights at the Valley of Roses and the Koprinka dam to the South.
Access points to the hut being:

  • Gabarevo village via the site of Barata as a section crosses Sokolna reserve. The hiking here should be limited to the marked trail. The collection of mushrooms, forest fruits, herbs, the picking up of flowers and the bothering of wild animals is not allowed.


Sokolna hut is an access point to Tazha hut to the West, as well as to Mazalat hut to the East via the Triglav Massif. Section of the trails fall within Sokolna reserve, where the above-mentioned rules of behavior should be obeyed.
