The hut, called in the past Maragidik, was built by the Sevlievo tourists in 1927 on the left bank along the upper stream of Tazha River. The new hut – built in 1948, is located a little higher to the North of the old one, at an elevation of 1520 m. It has 60 beds and is supplied with water and electricity. Impressive vista to the Triglav Massif opens from hut.
Access points to the hut being:
- Ostrets (Apriltsi town) via the Dalgata polyana
- Tazha village – along the black road following the valley of Tazha River
Tazha hut is an access point to the peak of Botev to the West and Mazalat hut to the East, as well as to Sokolna hut. Section of the latter trail falls within the Sokolna reserve. The hiking here should be limited to the marked trail. The collection of mushrooms, forest fruits, herbs, the picking up of flowers and the bothering of wild animals is not allowed.
