Each year, from the end of June until 9 July (the birthday of the national poet) Sopot celebrates the Days of Vazov or the Vazov’s festival.
The traditional men costume in this region was typically black colored – wide tight legged breeches. The women wear was low-cut sleeveless dresses with rich decoration.
Among the many and diverse social communities that inhabit the Balkan Peninsula, the Karakachans are well distinguished by their peculiar coloring and the magic, which their culture and way of life bring forth. The Karakachans belong to the Eastern Orthodox Church. They are Christians.
