A temporary restriction on visitor movement in the southern parts of the Park is being introduced until the end of April 2026

By Order No. RD-39/12.02.2026 of the Director of the Directorate of Central Balkan National Park (CBNP), a temporary restriction is introduced to prevent disturbance in the winter habitats of the red deer (Cervus elaphus). The order prohibits visitors from moving outside the marked tourist trails and roads throughout the entire territory of the Tazha and Kalofer park sections within Central Balkan National Park. This territory covers the area between the southern boundary of the National Park and the main ridge of the Balkan Mountains in its southeastern parts.

The restriction is in force until 30 April 2026.
