A working meeting with pasture users in the Park was held in the Park office

On August 18, a meeting with users of pastures in the Park and citizens was held at the Central Office of the Directorate of the Central Balkan National Park in Gabrovo. The topic of the meeting concerned the processes of assessing the pasture resource, which are the basis for planning future uses.Interested livestock breeders expressed their desire to become familiar with the process of qualitative and quantitative assessment of pastures and methods for determining their capacity. The Directorate team explained the way in which this process has been carried out over the past two seasons - by concluding a contract for external expert support, implemented by scientists from the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. During the active vegetation season, scientists and experts from the Central Balkan National Park carry out field visits to the pasture areas of the Park, during which they make the relevant qualitative and quantitative descriptions and measurements. For 2025, this process covered the period from the beginning of July to the beginning of August. In this regard and in connection with the users' insistence on a field visit, the experts proposed, with the Contractor's consent, to organize such a visit, during which the methodology for data collection and analysis would be explained.
