Another successful operation by the park rangers: Motorcyclists violating the regulations in Central Balkan National Park caught
On 21 June 2026, around 12:00 PM, the Directorate of Central Balkan National Park received a report about two motorcyclists riding along tourist trails in the area of Mount Ambaritsa in the direction of Dermenka hut.
Following the immediate response of the Park Guard staff, an inspection was organized in the area. As a result of the actions taken, the offenders were located in the area of Gerdec Tepe on the hiking trail leading to Dermenka hut.
The inspection established that the individuals were from the town of Sopot and cooperated with the staff in the performance of their duties. It was also found that the motorcycles they were using had no license plates.
Both offenders were issued administrative violation acts under the Protected Areas Act.
“Central Balkan National Park is a territory designated for the protection of Bulgaria’s unique natural heritage and for sustainable use by visitors. The movement of motor vehicles outside designated areas causes damage to natural habitats, creates risks for tourists, and disturbs wildlife. We will not make compromises with such violations and will continue to respond promptly to every submitted signal,” said Georgi Krastev, Director of the Central Balkan National Park Directorate.
The Directorate reminds that, according to the current Management Plan of Central Balkan National Park, the use of motor vehicles on tourist routes is prohibited. The restriction aims to protect natural habitats, ensure the peace of wild animals, and guarantee visitor safety.
The Park Directorate urges all visitors to follow the established rules and to report any violations promptly to the Directorate’s phone numbers or to emergency number 112.
