Lighting fires is prohibited in the Central Balkan

By Order No. 196/24.07.2025 of the Director of the Directorate of the Central Balkan National Park, it is prohibited to light fires in the open air in any form, manner and occasion on the territory of the Central Balkan National Park, including lighting fires in the places designated and permitted in the Management Plan - section 3.1.4. Eco-friendly Tourism Zone D. Places for lighting fires with separate corners for short-term relaxation (fireplaces, gazebos, benches, fountains, etc.) (Appendix No. 3.1.11.) and places under the conditions of section 3.2.2.2. Multifunctional Zone, "herds' bivouac places and places for lighting fires".

The following are also prohibited:
Lighting fires in temporary and seasonal shepherd shelters and huts that do not have properly constructed and secured chimneys;
Leaving unextinguished or unattended solid fuel stoves used for current needs of tourist huts, shelters and other infrastructure facilities;
Leaving and throwing away flammable liquids, unextinguished cigarette butts, oils, household waste, glass bottles, etc. that can cause a fire;
And other prohibitions and restrictions concerning users and managers of facilities in the Park.
