Ranger Day Brings Children and Families Together in Cherni Osam to Learn About Nature and Wildfire Prevention
Over the past weekend, experts from the Central Balkan National Park Directorate took part in the seventh edition of Ranger Day, held at the Natural Science Museum in the village of Cherni Osam. The event brought together dozens of children and their families for an engaging introduction to the world of park rangers, filled with new knowledge and hands-on learning.
World Ranger Day was established in 2007 by the International Ranger Federation. Its main purpose is to raise public awareness of the vital role rangers play in protecting nature, as well as the challenges and risks they face in their daily work.
The event was organized through the joint efforts of the Central Balkan National Park Directorate, the Natural Science Museum – Cherni Osam, and the National School for Mountain Guides – Cherni Osam, transforming a summer day into a true outdoor adventure.
Young explorers learned about the work of park rangers, discovered more about wild animals and plants, and took part in a variety of educational games. One of the event's main highlights was wildfire prevention. Through interactive activities, children learned how everyone can help protect nature and why responsible behavior in the mountains is so important.
