Today we celebrate World Climate Day.

15 May 2024
Climate Day was declared by member countries of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, signed on June 5, 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In Bulgaria, the document was ratified in March 1995.
Every year, environmentalists and politicians from all over the world coordinate their actions to reduce the trend towards global warming.
In relation to this, the Central Balkan National Park Directorate accepted students from the town of Maglizh’s Geo Milev Vocational High School of Agriculture. The high school students visited the office of the Park Directorate in the town of Karlovo, where they were able to learn about the purpose and importance of the Park and, in particular, about the features and biodiversity of The Stara Reka Reserve, located right above the town of Karlovo. Although the bad weather did not allow the young people to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the reserve personally, they managed to get acquainted with it, through a short film, from the Youtube channel of the Directorate. After the end of the meeting, the children also visited the picturesque Suchurum waterfall.
