We celebrate World Earth Day on April 22
22 April 2026
The Central Balkan National Park Directorate joined in celebrating World Earth Day on April 22 in a joint initiative with the Vasil Levski Secondary School - Sevlievo, where teachers, parents and students from four 2nd grade classes planted a total of 12 coniferous trees in the Pine Forest Park. The children understood that the joint efforts of all of us are key to protecting our planet and its well-being is our common concern.
In 2026, Earth Day is celebrated for the 56th time under the slogan "Our Power, Our Planet". The campaign calls on communities around the world to take action in support of clean air, clean water, clean energy, protected natural resources and climate stability. These factors are directly related to human health, economic predictability, food security and the functioning of cross-border infrastructure.
The role of people and communities around the world in maintaining environmental protection impacts the cost of living, public health, infrastructure reliability, and long-term stability. Environmental conditions affect food systems, water availability, energy access, disaster risk, and economic resilience in all regions.
