Celebrating the day of the park ranger in the town of Pavel Banya.

On July 21 and 22, employees of the "Central Balkan National Park" Directorate participated in UZANA POLYANA FEST

Following the kind invitation of the Municipality of Gabrovo, employees of the "Central Balkan National Park" Directorate participated in the event held every year in the area of Uzana, near the town of Gabrovo, together with part of the team of the Natural Science Museum - Cherni Osam, which are partners of the Park Directorate.

An annual plan for the use of medicinal plants in the Central Balkan National Park for 2023 has been approved.

By Order No. RD-138/ 21.07.2023 of the Director of the Central Balkan National Park, the Annual Plan for the use of medicinal plants in the Central Balkan National Park, 2023 (Plan 2023) was approved.

74 years since the announcement of Tsarichina Reserve

Tsarichina Reserve was declared on July 18, 1949. It is located near the village of Ribaritsa, at the northern foot of Mount Vezhen. There are more than 30 species of mammals in Tsarichina, 75 of the more than 90 species of birds found in the reserve nest there. It houses over 600 species of plants. After beech, spruce, fir and white mulberry are the most widespread - here is its northernmost location in the world. You can see the beautiful colors of the rhododendron, of the fire-red charmer - queen, which gave the reserve its name.

As of today, two of the reserves in the "Central Balkan" National Park have been declared.

The Sokolna Reserve is part of the Central Balkan National Park. It was declared a reserve on July 11, 1979, in order to preserve characteristic habitats and localities of rare and protected species in the Balkan massif of Triglav.The “Peeshti Skali” (Singing Rocks) reserve is located in the northeastern part of the Park. It was declared as such on July 11, 1979. It was created with the aim of preserving high mountain treeless habitats, natural beech forests and characteristic fauna of the Rositsa river basin.
