On the occasion of World Water Day - March 22, the Central Balkan National Park Directorate together with the Natural History Museum - Cherni Osam village are organizing a celebration for young and old. Through games and tasks, everyone will learn more about water, its related species and how to protect it. The event will be held in the courtyard of the museum on March 22 (Wednesday) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Hut Dobrila
Dobrila hut is located on a saddle pasture between the peaks of Ambaritsa and Dobrila at an elevation of 1750 m. It is built by the tourists from Sopot town in 1928. Later it burned and was rebuilt in stone in 1932 – 1933. Likely the peak of the same name, it is named after the legendary hero and rebel against the Ottoman empire Dobril. A number of cabins were built in the region of this old hut in the seventies ad eighties, the constructions of massive concrete building also started, but it was never finished. All these constructions substantially corrupt the aesthetic value of the landscape in the region of Dobrila, which borders two of the most beautiful reserves in the Central Balkan – Steneto to the northwest and Stara Reka to the southeast.
Access points to the hut being:
- Sopot town, with the chair lift to Nezabravka hut or along the dust road below it
- Cherni Osam village via the site of Smesite, Zoranov rat, Ambaritsa hut and the peak of Ambaritsa (in winter), shortcut possible in summer
Dobrila hut is an access point to Dermenkaya hut and to Vasil Levski hut via the peaks of Ambaritsa, Kupena and Kostenurkata in winter or shortcutting them in summer via the site of Topalitsa. Section of the trail falls within a reserve. The hiking here should be limited to the marked trail. The collection of mushrooms, forest fruits, herbs, the picking up of flowers and the bothering of wild animals is not allowed.
