The Krustcite peak
It is located along the main crest trail Dobrila hut – Botev Peak, which follows the watershed crest between the Troyan and the Kalofer mountains. Given the high avalanche risk it is not recommended for hiking in winter. For the alpine hikers it is a traverse of IV b category. In nice, clear weather it offers unforgettable vistas towards Northern and Southern Bulgaria. It is a section of the Kom-Emine hiking trail.
Hiking from the West – from the direction of the Golyam Kupen, you would pass a rock terrain and grass tuffs, to the right and to the South, the trail shall shortcut the peak of Malak Krustets and steep up again, through juniper bushes will reach a narrow opening in the rocks, the main crest shortcut from the North following marked by hardly visible trail in the region of the peak of Golyam Krustets. Along the western slope of this sharp peak, the trail becomes larger and continues to the Kostenurkata. The name of this massif is linked to the legend of Krali Marko – here were the wheat fields of the legendary hero.
